Happy 4th Birthday Ava and Macy

We recently celebrated Ava and Macy's 4th birthday. So hard to believe that they are 4! Their actual birthday was on a Tuesday so unfortunately we had work and school but we started the morning at the Donut Shop. They picked out a very special donut with chocolate and sprinkles. We took cupcakes to their school so they could celebrate with all of their friends. After school, we gave them their birthday gifts. Big girl bikes!! No more tricycles for these 4 year olds! It was SUPER cold that day so we mostly had to stay in the garage and ride but that didn't bother them. They were SO excited and had a blast riding them. That night I told them they could pick anything they wanted for dinner. They chose pizza, macaroni and cheese, and green beans for their birthday dinner. So that is what we had. They are definitely my kids. Love their junk food but also want something green on their plate. : ) What a fun day!

 So surprised!

 So happy!

Of course, there were some crashes and tears.

But, you have to get back on.

The delicious birthday dinner. : )

Last Saturday, we had their birthday party. We had it at Young Chefs Academy which is a little cooking school for kids. They had 9 friends come and it was really fun. All of the kids got to wear aprons and chef hats,  make their own pizzas, and decorate their own cupcakes. It was kind of crazy with 11 three and four year olds but all of the kids had a blast. And most importantly, Ava and Macy had fun and felt really special that all of their friends came to celebrate with them. Here are some pictures from their party.

Last year Ava got too close to her candle and burnt her nose a little bit. This year after she blew out the candle she kept saying, "I didn't burn my nose! I didn't burn my nose!" Poor thing was traumatized by that experience!

Trying out their pizzas that they made all by themselves.

Happy 4th birthday precious girls!

Albu-turkey

We spent Thanksgiving in Albequerque with Ben's family this year. For two weeks, the girls kept saying, "When are we going to Albu-turkey?" It was actually kind of appropriate since we would be eating a lot of turkey in Albuquerque. Jon, Emily, Presley, and Landon are living there for a year while Jon completes his fellowship for orthopedic surgery. We were planning to go visit them sometime over the next year and decided Thanksgiving would be the perfect time! It was definitely the longest car trip the girls have ever made (10 hours!)  but thanks to the DVD player it was tolerable. We broke up the trip by spending the night in Amarillo going there and coming back. We had a blast while we were there! Presley, Ava, and Macy had so much fun together. They played so hard from the time they woke up to the time they went to bed. We went to the Zoo, an indoor bounce house jump place (can't remember the name of it), and the park. Because there were grandparents there (a.k.a free babysitters), Emily and I got to go see Breaking Dawn and one night Jon, Emily, Ben, and I went out on the town. There was also shopping, golf, the Razorback game, and of course a lot of eating! We had so much fun. Here are a few pics of our Thanksgiving week.
