Colorado Vacation

Last July we took a family vacation to Beaver Creek, Colorado. I just realized I never blogged about it so I am doing that now! It was awesome! By far the best family vacation we have ever taken. I feel like our vacations keep getting better and better which I am sure is a direct result of the kids getting older. Anyway, we didn't over schedule ourselves (Disneyworld, I'm looking at you), it wasn't too hot (Seaworld... ugh), no one got sick (Keystone), we didn't lose a child (Florida trip), and no one had to leave early because they were throwing non stop tantrums (Seaworld again). So... although the competition wasn't too stiff... it was the best family vacay ever!

We flew out early in the morning on July 5th and stayed for a whole week.

It is a two hour drive from the airport to Beaver Creek so the girls caught a quick nap.

This was right outside our hotel. So beautiful and peaceful.

We went on a bike ride the first day.

Aubrey snoozed in the bike trailer.

Every day at 3:00, they bring out huge platters of warm chocolate chip cookies for everyone in Beaver Creek village. Needless to say, my girls loved this.

It was pretty chilly most days so the girls went back and forth from the pool to the hot tub.

"Hanging out" near the river behind our hotel.

Ben fly fished a few times and the girls loved playing on the rocks near the river. We packed a picnic lunch and ate outside every day.

Hanging out in the village at night:

We went rafting on the Colorado river. It was really cold and kind of rainy this day. Luckily they had wet suits to help keep us warm. Ava, Macy, and Ben all jumped in the river! They were the only people in our group that were brave enough to do it!

Ben took the big girls horseback riding through the mountains. Aubrey was too little so she and and I stayed behind.

We went hiking. Perfect weather and beautiful views!

We went to the Beaver Creek rodeo one night.

Aubrey got to ride a horse at the rodeo. She was so excited!

The last day we headed over to Vail. They have a fun adventure park at the top of the mountain with zip lines, tubing, ropes courses, hiking, etc.

Heading home after an amazing, fun filled week. We can't wait to go back!
